Today is the day. I am going to cease it.
12.30 am and I’m wide awake, ready and yes, tired.
I’m going to positively reinforce everything today to make the day go a little smoother.
Travelling is one of my anxiety triggers, but I’m ready for that dark little cloud today. I’ve got to be, my teen is scared of flying and I always have to stop her from tying to get back off the plane once we have boarded.
I’m stocked up on everything, charger, distraction techniques and positivity.
By 8am we will be sitting in the sun, next to the beach, cold drink in hand and a gorgeous view.
I’m keeping in mind the end goal and the knowledge that once we reach our goal everyone will relax. No more work calls for the husband who thankfully is leaving his phone at home. Warm enough weather to enjoy a dip in the pool for the teen and heat and light therapy for me.
With COVID we had a holiday cancelled and last year one with Thomas Cook cancelled so we are certainly ready to escape a little.
Have you noticed that just seeing different trees lifts your spirits? Or the white houses in the sun? Cobbled streets, geraniums hanging from windows, quirky little shops (and bars).
It’s good to take in new ways of life and cultures, broaden your horizons a little and see a tiny bit more of what is a beautiful world.
