Last night I woke at bang on 3am, because I heard a thud. Like someone banged once on the window. My husband was snoring, the dog was snorting and the teen quiet. I got up, used the bathroom and got back in bed. But couldn’t figure out the thud and thought maybe I’d dreamt it, after all I do hear things like really hear them when dreaming, or so I think I do, surely a thought in your mind can’t be so loud and realistic.
I’m laying in bed, listening to my husband snore and I hear something else, a second inhale, exhale. I hold my breath to check I’m not just hearing myself. Nope still there. I open my eyes and keep still, I look at my husband trying to match the breathing sound to him. It doesn’t match, it is an entirely different being, breathing, near me.
I say in my mind I’m not listening, I’m sleeping. I go back to sleep and dream of aliens in the house.
The next morning, the teen comes in and flops on my bed, she says she’s shattered because she dreamt of aliens all night and dreamt she was awake.
Now that did freak me out, but I’m a logical person. Now maybe I was unconsciously moving my feet. That created the breathing sounds as my feet moved on the sheets. I have restless feet, they are always moving if I’m sat; the motion drives everyone mad.
I can’t explain the same dreams but we are very close. We hadn’t been watching anything like this on TV.
I’ve been woken by this noise before and previously woken my husband up to check the house. I don’t think the thud noise is real at all.
It’s witching hour, if I was so inclined I’d say I was being visited. But if so it’s pretty pointless if no message is passed on.
So there you go. A restless night. Someone in my room? Maybe, maybe not. Probably not. Phew.
