So. Today my family and I had our COVID tests. We had to have them as we have been looking after our granddaughter (also being tested) as we all have some symptoms and another grandparent tested positive.
Anyway, we’re okay. We opted for postal testing.
The tests arrived today! Less that 12 hours from our call to the Covid team.
The package arrived from amazon, with super clear instructions on use.
We found our priority post box, very local, prepped what time we could take the test to make the post.
We the at the appropriate time, registered our tests online. Slightly confusing and not very clear.
The test is clear, swab your tonsil (just one side) and then your 2.5cm inside your nose with the same swab (eww) place the swab in the tub. screw lid back on and place tub in a plastic bag supplied with a clean gauze, also supplied, this bag then goes into another bag sealed and placed into a little box you have to make up. The box is sealed with a security sticker. Post the box in the appropriate post box and sit back, relax and await your results.
I shall let you all know the outcomes when they arrive back.
East Midlands have seen a massive rise in cases. I’m not holding out for a negative for us all. We all think we’ve got or had it and are isolating appropriately.
