Buzz Aldrin, what a man.
I met briefly with Buzz Aldrin in Sheffield, England; when he was visiting Birley Spa Primary School to give a talk on his experiences upon Apollo 11.
I won’t lie, it’s hard to believe this man went to space, getting your head round this is a challenge. I can’t even imagine what those astronauts went through.
Bravery, I’ve never met a braver and more grounded man. He is polite, friendly and a man of great knowledge.
During my brief time with him, we were able to ask questions, get a picture with him and listen to his experiences.
Buzz gave a talk to the children who asked about the space shuttle, exiting and entering the atmosphere, landing on the moon, problems aboard the shuttle.
To hear his own thoughts and feelings during that time was a real insight into what he and other astronauts go through in order to explore our universe and gain knowledge. This was an emotional and happy meeting, inspiring all to understand more about Space and it’s contents.
I have been intrigued ever since and strive to learn more about Space. Thank you Buzz and all astronauts for being our hero’s and inspiration.
