Weightloss with surgery?

So I’m often asked if I could have lost the weight without the surgery.

Without a doubt yes! IF I had known what I know now.

I had Bypass surgery so what they did was take a small egg sized slice from the top of my stomach, route some intestine to it to create and exit and seal the rest up.

My old stomach is still in place and draining to my intestines, anything I eat just joins my intestine after this point.

So let me go back to why it’s possible without surgery.

I had no portion control, even a small portion was a big sized looking back.

If someone had said eat five or six ramekin sized meals a day, I’d have done it, if my willpower had allowed.

If someone had told me to never eat high carbs meals such as pasta again, I’d have been disappointed but that’s reality now after surgery, foods high in fat cause a very upset stomach.

Had someone told me to eat mostly fish, such as tuna, salmon etc with peppers, salad items mixed in, I could have done that because in ramekin sized portions that’s all I can eat now.

Should I have been told to eat protein first to the ramekin size, yeah I guess I could have.

However, the thing I struggled most with was my hunger hormone and poor metabolism.

I couldn’t have done any of those things when hungry.

Now even though I still do get hungry I’m satisfied after such small amounts. Therefore I’m no longer greedy. I physically can not eat more as it causes sickness so I have to eat slow to listen to when my body is full.

Would I have been happy slim but hungry? No

Am I happy despite my restrictions now? Yes.

I hope that answers the question.

I left 4 pieces of this, I just fancied some pepper even though it’s breakfast time.
