I was just watching Tess Daly do an interview about her new book. During the interview she discussed breathing techniques, breathing in for 4 and out for 6 etc. this helps calm her when she is trying to sleep and can’t switch off.
Now even that doesn’t work for me. But I use the one two method so thought I’d share. It is simply counting your intakes of breath as a one, and breathing out as two. So breath in, count one in your head, breath out, count two and repeat.
This forces me to only think of the in and out, one and two. If your mind strays that’s okay, just go back to the one, two. I always finds this helps me sleep even when extremely stressed or worried.
