Spiritualist Churches

What’s the general view on spiritualist churches?

I have been considering joint one for a while now. It seems however that those I’ve found are money making pyramid schemes.

I feel I do quite well without one, I have friends with similar beliefs, I don’t feel alone, because I never really am.

I have just been disappointed, I was hoping I could just join a service one day. Meet new people, have fresh perspectives and thoughts. This seems to be a beautiful idea that won’t come to be.

Joining fees! For a spiritual church? Seriously. Then payment to talk, you have to talk to the teacher of the church, to be guided. I don’t need guidance or a qualification. I just fancied the living feeling of belonging to a much bigger thing/family unit; especially as I have a non existent relationship with some of my family.

Maybe I’m trying to fill a gap and not finding the right plug? Can anyone give recommendations? Re connection with family is currently not an option unless I’m willing to get a divorce it seems.

Life is so strange.

  1. I can well imagine where you are coming from. I was like that .. till I found Self Realisation Fellowship. Do check it out – Yogananda.org

And Paramahansa Yogananda has also given immense guidance on how to handle children.
