The government gave money to reduce people’s bills
The Energy Companies put bills up so that money was absorbed
Now we live in poverty, frozen in our homes
Wearing many blankets and jumpers to keep away our fears
Fears of dying or becoming sick, or eating or many a room warm to live
Our incomes are to small to cover any bills
Nevermind put the heating on or take hot baths or showers
My Grandad is 88, his Gas bill is £600
He won’t last much longer due to corporation greed
Good bye UK living, holidays and treats
So Long feeling warm, eating well and new clothes
Au revoir good living, poverty is now the norm
We will sit in our rags, in cold homes and starve.
