Bariatric Downs…

I havent posted for a while. Six days and it feels like months ago, time goes very slow when you don’t feel your best.

From my bed in the middle of the ward I was bed seven in a ward for four.
NJ tube feeds are not fun if you have an intolerance. I really really feel for those who live with these things.
Check out the size of the NHS bath!
My home set up after being discharged
Being so sick on the nj feed I was throwing up constantly and threw up my tube 🙄

Sorry for the last photo!

But anyway, after I was discharged I went on an outpatient waiting list. 6-8 weeks. Despite me saying how sick I was on the tube feed. Didn’t seem to worry anyone. I was sure the tube had moved I felt like it was coiled in my chest. Painful. The idea is dismissed by all.

I have an appointment the last day in February for a check up of how I’m coping on the nj tube. The nutrition team visits at home. Nice lady. Lots of useful advice.

No idea what action will be taken yet to actually rectify the stomach exit.

And to top things off I have been so sick on the nj tube that today ten days after discharge, I threw up the feed tube and as we are heading into the weekend I’ve been told I can’t have it re fitted till Monday.

Well I booked to go to Turkey for revision surgery this Sunday so I guess the feed tube is staying out. The nutritional team have given me advice and I’ll be following a high calorie high protein liquid diet until my surgery next week abroad.

On a separate note that bath in hospital was huge! It had a bubble and wave function too. Almost made you forget where you were for a few minutes.

So I write this as I try not to bring back up the liquids and cope till I see my surgeon in Turkey. I’m tired, grumpy and moody.

I want to say I think all those people who live on ng and nj tubes are absolutely amazing and have so much patience. I’m in awe as to how you manage. I’m an absolute wimp.

    1. Hey, well I’ve had my surgery plus gall bladder removed in Turkey, no complications or complaints!
I have got an infection but I’m praying I’ll be back home at the end of the week feeling fantastic.
No more nj tube or hall bladder pain and I’m keeping everything down so far!
I hope you are doing well, thank you for asking!
